Valorant is a team-based tactical first-person shooter developed by Riot Games which pairs precise gunplay with unique agent abilities. Valorant, rather than being a standard run and gun shooter, demands a mixture of mechanical skill and strategic thought. Two 5-player teams compete in intense, round-based matches where every action could change the game.
What separates Valorant from the rest is its hybrid system. Accuracy with weapons is key, but so is know when and how to use abilities to control space, gather information, and interrupt enemies. This fusion of shooting and strategy makes the gameplay tough but rewarding.
Valorant is a game of control and information. One side attacks by planting a bomb called the Spike, and the other defends key points on the map. The game is round-based, with a series of rounds making up each match. With this format, players learn to be patient, work as a team, and utilize good positioning.
You don’t win by clicking faster than everyone else. Valorant’s gameplay is all about working as a team, having solid map knowledge, and making good use of your utilities. Players are pushing together, setting traps, and matching the evolving strategy of the other team.
Beginners can take the first step to improve by learning the controls:
