Pokémon Sapphire is a turn-based role-playing game (RPG) in which the player takes on the role of a Pokémon Trainer and is set in the Hoenn region. You start your adventure as a new Pokémon Trainer, with your first steps taking you through cities, forests, caves, and oceans as you come across all sorts of Pokémon. Battles are strategic and menu-driven, and during battle players can attack, use an item, switch Pokémon, or run.
